The Irish flute and whistle are wonderful instruments with a lot of personal style, and a very doable way to learn and participate in Irish traditional music.
If you’re a new learner, I am excited to work with you on technical basics and common tunes that will allow you to participate in community session playing. With more experienced students, I enjoy listening to recordings particularly of older players to develop a sense of personal, historic, or regional style. (Personally, I am influenced by the rhythmic style associated with players such as Kevin Henry, Peter Horan, Harry Bradley, and Larry Nugent).
